There are plenty of stories about good vs evil – and in the movies good wins over every time. In real life sometimes it’s not always that easy. I thought I was relatively good as a kid. I was bullied a bit by this girl who I thought was very very evil. She tormented me every day and I’d try to stand up to her and get one over her but I lost every time until eventually one day she pushed me so hard I whacked her one while waiting for the school bus. I didn’t like that I’d done something evil in order to get a bit of peace, but I felt like I had no choice which makes it all a bit confusing. In the battle of good vs evil sometimes it’s a bit like that.

Like Ritchie McCaw and Quaid Cooper in the rugby world cup that felt like a bit of a battle of good vs evil. Fiercely supporting Ritchie after being wronged by Quaid, the kiwis inadvertently became a little bit evil in jeering and jibing Quaid so much that he lost his biscuits in the biggest tournament of his life. That didn’t seem very good to me and then as a prize for that behaviour they won the world cup. In a nutshell it’s hard to be good.

If you are a home schooling parent, you obviously are very discerning about the quality of education your kids receive. The same can be said for their entertainment, social activities, and relationships. Entertainment is a huge part of today’s world, so let’s take a moment to discuss some positives. In my opinion, children have too many forms of entertainment that are pretty empty. By that I mean that they are not required to think analytically, express themselves, or draw meaningful conclusions. The right books can remedy that.

When I was young, I always used to sleep at my friend John’s house. John had a giant house. I mean, this house was huge. It had 2 swimming pools. It had 3 indoor petting zoos. And John’s bedroom was the size of my entire living room. I think that this is a great subject for a movie. I am going to write a movie about John’s house. I am going to send it to a producer in Hollywood. But 1st, I’m going to order script analysis from a professional in Los Angeles. I think that this script will win an Academy award sometime in the next 3 years. If it does not win an award, I will be absolutely stunned, mortified, ashamed, and angry. The Academy can be so unfair. I do not think that it is a fair system at all. But the only way to circumvent this unfair system is to write a script that cannot be denied. That is my goal.
