Are you confused by all the information on the internet on weight loss. It can be very confusing! You needn’t worry, however, if you follow these 7 simple steps for healthy fat loss.
1. It all starts with having the right mindset. If you’re not in the right frame of mind you’ll fail. There’s no getting around it. You need to understand why you want to lose weight. It has to be a very powerful reason. Only when you know the ‘why’ will you be on your way to healthy fat loss.
2. Eat like your ancestors did. You don’t think our cavemen friends ate junk food do you? It’s not what our bodies have evolved to cope with. It’s no wonder that we see so many obese children and adults out there. Give up the junk food and eat like your ancestors – eat nuts, meat and fruit.
3. Eat foods that are whole and not processed. Processed foods are empty calories; having no nutritional value whatsoever. Compare that to whole foods such as nuts, fruit and fist which are full of vitamins and minerals and high quality calories. You’ll notice the difference in your body and your energy almost immediately.
4. Drink lots of water. Forget all the sodas – they are just full of sugar. They are not good for you at all. Even diet sodas are not good for you. Just stick to plain old water. Try and drink between 6-8 glasses of pure water every day.
5. Eat your meals slowly. Eating is not a race. Digestion of your food starts with your chewing with the enzymes in the saliva. Proper digestion is very beneficial for your health. Also, by eating slowly, you are less likely to overeat.
6. Eat 5-6 small meals throughout the day starting off with a wholesome breakfast. By eating small portions, you are more likely to maintain your energy levels without having huge hunger pangs or sugar rushes.
7. Get active. By increasing the level of exercise you do, it increases your metabolism. The metabolism is the rate at which your body burns fuel – so a higher metabolism means more calories burned. You should also consider some kind of resistance training. The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn.
